[Sword Art Online Arc]: The Eternal Saga

Kane turned his head, a serious and dark attitude was on his face. "As much as I'd love to finish her wonderful food that she prepared. I will not rest until I have done what the Midnight Swordsman is known for." He turned his head to Akimoto. "I hope you remember that promise I made to you after I caught you sneaking out that one day when we first met. I said that even though this is a game, we can still die and we shouldn't get too close to anything. I promised you I would try to help you guys as soon as I could, getting you all out so you could live your lives in peace." He turned his head and walked out of the door.

After Kane left the shop, Akimoto got a private message from him titled 'Open'. He opened it and read it. The message said.

"Keep your eyes on the news reports tonight around Midnight."

"God dammit Kane." Akimoto muttered and closed his menu. He finished his plate, and walked to the back room where he sat them on the counter. "I've got to head out." He said, kissed Maeko on the forehead and then walked out.

Maeko sighed, and changed the open sign to closed, turned the light off in the main area and then went to the back room

Later that night, Akimoto opened his menu at, let's say, about 11:56 P.M, 4 minutes before Midnight. He scrolled to a section of the menu that allowed him to read news letters for past floors. He turned on notifications and waited for news reports. Once Midnight struck, a notification popped up on the notification tab. He tapped it and the news for floor 22 popped up.

"Bingo." Akimoto said, reading it real quick and then walking into the teleportation gate. He went to 22, and looked for Kane on his map. He saw him, and began running towards his dot on the map.

Floor 22 was a foggy floor. The majority of the floor was a dark forest with black trees that had no leaves on them. The farthest a player could see through the fog was at least 40 or 50 yards. Akimoto reached where he thought Kane was, although Kane was no where in sight. Just a small piece of paper on the grey grass.

Akimoto drew his sword, looked around and then bent over to pick up the note. He began to read it.

The sounds of nature whispered in Akimoto's ears. He read the note, which said...

"To those who pick this Letter up -"
"We would go into detail on this note, to make it all sappy and what not. Although we're just going to cut to the chase. The Midnight Swordsman is no more, We, the Death Bringers, have captured this so called vigilante and plan to dispose of him sometime around Midnight. Now if you, the reader of this note, are willing to save him. Go ahead, we'll bring you to your death, you just have to find him."

"Signed, The Death Bringers."

"Mother of fuck." Akimoto said. He opened his menu, went into his inventory. He selected his coat of twilight, which appeared on him, along with his new sword. He put his other sword back into his inventory and then selected a bandit type mask, which was black with a red outline. He pushed his hair with his hand, which caused it to cover one eye. He looked around, he heard a sound off to the east. He had been leveling up his hearing sense lately. He then began running in that direction.

The fog became denser, just enough so Akimoto could hardly see what was in front of him. He heard a sharp click and skid to a halt, when he did so, the blade of a sword appeared, an inch apart from his neck. The fog seemed to disperse around, like a dome, revealing a man in a black cloak that covered his entire body holding his sword towards Akimoto. He lowered it and stepped back.

"Kane?" Akimoto asked, his sword at his side, but pointed at the man. His uncovered eye could barely be seen, so basically his entire body was dark, except for the sharp red outline on his clothes.

The man lifted his hand up and removed the hood of his cloak. His head was completely bald and he had scars along his cheek. He had an eyepatch over his right eye.

"God dammit. Who are you?" Akimoto asked, standing straight, his sword still in the same position.

"Your death wish." The man simply stated, his voice was low. He held his hand up and in his palm, Akimoto could see a small emblem tattooed onto it, it was the Death Bringers emblem.

"Alright then." Akimoto stated stepping back and getting into a fighting stance, his sword in front of him.

"Ah, so you are in the stage of acceptance?" The man sneered. "Good.." He spun his red and black sword in his fingers and held it in front of him, tilting his body towards Akimoto. He rested his other hand on his waist. "Your move kid."

Akimoto clenched his jaw shut, blinked slowly and then charged at the man. He ran at him, jumped over him, slicing at the mans chest mid air, and then he swiped his sword at his back. He landed, standing straight as he faced the other way. He put his sword back in his holder, and then turned his head slightly to see the man, his health depleting slowly as he fell to his knees.

The man kneeled and smiled. He spun his sword and the blade grew a dark red. He slashed back and struck Akimoto in the neck, his health depleting fast as well. The man rolled to the side and quickly stood up, clenching his sword.

Akimoto fell to his knees, he reached towards his back, grabbed the hilt of his sword and then swiped with his feet, kicking the man's knees, causing him to fall to the ground. Akimoto jumped up, and landed on the mans chest, his sword centimeters from his eye. "I'll take your eye, or your life. You choose." He said through gritted teeth, his eyes watering and his mouth bloody.

The man tilted his head. "Kid, taking away my eye would be the death of you." He gave a sinister sneer. He knew he was defeated too easily. But hey, that was the plan right? "What can I do for you?" The man asked.

"You can tell me where you're holding the Midnight Swordsman and I won't end you right here." Akimoto said, and then he heard the slight hush of footsteps coming from his far right.

The man shifted his remaining eye to the right. Through the fog, Akimoto could see a figure, a small figure that appeared tinier than himself. It had a trench coat like coat flapping in the wind as he walked. A sword was slung over his silhouette. Even though Akimoto couldn't see his face, he could tell who it was, just by the slow, and badass strut he had.

Akimoto kept the sword near the guys face, as he turned his head slightly to watch. He muttered something to himself as he watched.

The fog dispersed around the silhouette and it was revealed to be Kane. Kane kept walking, keeping a gaze aimed towards Akimoto and the man, he had a smile to his face. The fog also dispersed behind him, which revealed tons, and tons of cloaked men, similar to the one the man was wearing. They all had their hoods off and followed behind Kane in rows, their swords out. Eventually Kane stopped walking about 20 yards away from Akimoto, and 4 men held their swords to the back of his neck, head, and back. He still had a sly smile on his face.

Akimoto stood straight, stepping back from the man. He walked towards Kane, slowly.
