Attack on Wall Maria Arc: "On that Day"

A young 13 year old Chadwick Stafford, yawned as the sun began to set. He re-adjusted the water on his back and turned his head. The year was 845 and a the world has been in peace while living inside the walls of Wall Maria, Rose, and Sina. Why is humanity living in walls? Monsters known as titans roam the Earth in this world, Titans are ruthless, mindless, and heartless creatures that feast upon humans. Chadwick turned his head and noticed Sarah Stafford, his sister, quickly catching up. Her long black hair swayed back and forth on her shoulders as she caught up to her brother. The two had been out gathering water for dinner as a request for their mother.
"Hey Chad." Sarah spoke up. Chadwick turned his head again as they walked up a few steps towards their house in the Shinganshina district. "Do you ever think live will be what is was back then?" She noticed Chadwick hesitate, yet he answered a moment later. "Maybe." That was the only word he muttered.

However the story is not just about the Stafford Siblings, there are multiple other heroes you must learn about..

Markus and his girlfriend Caroline roam the town, holding hands and laughing. They were happy together, but Markus knew, that just out side the wall they all were caged in, there were evil beings. He shook his head to get the thought to go away as they began to run through an alleyway.

Orion sat inside his house along with his dad, Bill, Who had his 3D Gear on standby // Axel walked through town with his girlfriend, enjoying life (☞ﾟ∀ﾟ)☞

Chadwick nodded at his sister. "And that's why I want to leave the walls. I awlays wanted to join the Survey Corps.." She kept on going. Chadwick didn't understand his younger sisters desire to live outside the wall. All he cared about was his father's disappearance. This day marked the one month anniversary for his disappearance. The sun set lower and lower

Markus sighed when they stopped running and slowly came towards Caroline's house. " I better get going before your dad gets home. It makes no sense to me why he dislikes me." He muttered and rubbed his temples. Carolina silently giggled as she began to walk in the door. "Having it be a secret makes it more interesting." She whispered in his ear and then kissed him quickly before disappearing behind the door. Markus blushed and then cleared his throat as he turned around, there was a loud clash of lightning outside of the wall, which stopped him mid step.

Chadwick's shoulders dropped. His sister bumped into his shoulder and the two looked up. Steam rose over the wall and a huge head rose above it. It sat there, staring at the town menacingly. He and his sister were 100 yards away from their house where their mother and brother resided.

Orion and Bill both heard the lightning, as the 12 year old looks at his Father, he already was putting on his gear. Orion followed his dad outside // Axel looked at the walls "The hell?!" He asked, seeing there is not clouds in the sky

"Titan.." Markus coughed out as he stared up at the wall. Just at that moment the large titan kicked a hole into Wall Maria. "TITAN!" He screamed this time as the other titans began walking in through the hole.

Chadwick's eyes widened and his mouth dropped as he watched his brother emerge from the back of the house running from something. Sarah gasped and closed her mouth with her hands as a titan stumbled into view and toppled over the top of their house. The whole house caved in on itself leaving nothing in trace. Chadwick dropped his water pack and stumbled forward, everything happening so quickly. He watched as the black haired titan leaned down and smacked onto his brother. His brother lifted into the sky and became titan food within a minute. Sarah's eyes widened as blood sprayed all over the surrounding houses. Chadwick fell to his knees watching the titan swallow the remains of his sibling.

Axel looks at the titan in fear, grabbing his girlfriends arm yelling "Run!" Little did he know, a Armored titan will blast through the side of the wall Axel is heading too

Markus had gotten swept away in the crowd, away from Caroline. He ran into a near by alley and continued to run. He came near Chadwick as he ran.

Chadwick clenched his fist as he noticed the titan swallow. The house laying in rubble burned like a fire in Chadwick's own imagination. He closed his eyes on the brink of tears, he would have been with them if his sister hadn't annoyed him with all these questions on their way home. "Run, Now!" He shouted at his sister. His eyes started watering as the titan started walking in the opposite direction of them. He stood up and charged at it not a care in the world, being the simple minded 13 year old he was.

Sarah stood back watching her older brother. Her eyes widened as she watched him sprint. Her hands covered her mouth as she felt her heart drop.

Markus came out of the alley, noticing Chadwick a few feet away, running at a titan. He tackled him to the ground, and they slid a few feet to the side. "What the hell man?" He yelled, as the titan got further away. He stood, and helped Chadwick to his feet.

Chadwick held a fist and tried pushing out of Markus's grasp. He was being held back as he watched the black titan walk away and out of view. "No! Stop! Let me go!" He shouted. Tears slowly fluttering out and hit the ground.

"No kid!" Markus yelled, holding him back. "You can't stop it. Markus looked directly into Chadwick's eyes. " Join the corps, train. And THEN you can avenge your family's death. Do you understand me?" He said, calmly even though the current situation was anything but.

Chadwick gritted his teeth for a moment. He turned his head and noticed the black haired titan running away. He stood up and grabbed Markus's shoulder pulling him up. The two started running down the alley until they met his sister, which Chadwick pulled alongside him. "We have to get to safety!" He shouted out, the obvious already in mind.

Axel ran another direction, hesitating as he remembers his girlfriend slowly getting eaten by an armored titan, he looks back too see the same armored titan rampaging the wall, killing soldiers every second

"They should be evacuating by boat, heading to Wall Rose. Follow me!" Markus yelled, pulling the two to the right. Eventually they came to the gate, which lead to the evacuation point.

Axel sits on the boat where Chad and Markus is, he was sitting with his hands covering his face, tears in his eyes

Orion and Bill were on another boat, they were worried about the rest of their family

"CAROLINE!" Markus yelled out as he moved through the people on the boat. "CAROLINE!" He continued to call, hoping she had made it on to one of the boats. He looked around, his eyes swelling with tears as they closed off entrance to the boats, they had filled to maximum capacity. He made his way back to Chadwick. "She's not here. She's not here." He said, mumbling to himself as he sat, rocking back and forth.

Chadwick held his hand out and laid it on Markus's shoulders. His other hand was wrapped around his sister who closed her eyes with her hands. "Don't worry, she'll be safe. You saved my life and we'll help you find her once we all get to safety. That's the main priority right now." Chadwick's mind was now clear yet still hazy as images of his family's death swayed into view.

Markus wiped his eyes and face and then looked around. The boats slowly started to leave when he heard a young kid, looking about twelve or thirteen stand up on the seat and say. "I will rid titans of the world." And some other stuff, that was muffled by the screams and yells of other people still on the ground.

Chadwick turned his head towards the kid. He looked down and muttered. "I vow vengeance as well.."

Markus looked over and saw a kid, about his age weeping into his hands. He put his hand on his shoulder and sighed.

Axel continued to look in his hands, unfazed by Markus
