Division Choosing Arc: "Birth of the Brigadier Force"

5 days after Eren Jaeger, another soldier in the trainees squad, had closed the wall to Wall Rose in his titan form. The division choosing day had fallen upon the 104th Trainees squad graduates, they all were awaiting anxiously in the castle inside of Wall Sina.

Markus stood next to Caroline, Sarah and Annabelle behind them. They stood, and waited without a word.

Orion was sitting on a seat, looking to the sky as if he knew something was going to happen today // Axel stood, looking around the room

Katherine gave a small sigh as a soldier with the Military Police insignia on his jacket walked into the room. He gave a small bow and started to speak. "You all have a free day today, you can do whatever you all wish until 7:00 P.M, tonight, Meet back here at that time and we will all head out. You are dismissed." The soldier walked out of the castle room leaving the soldiers the whole entire day to do whatever they pleased.

"Well, Im going" Orion said, Jumping up and making his way to the door, Axel took a seat, indicating that he was staying

Sarah crossed her arms and walked out of the room as if something was distressing her.

Caroline followed after Sarah. Once they were outside she asked. "What's wrong?"

Markus walked over and sat next to Axel, without a word.

Sarah kept on walking out the castle gates. "It still bothers me that Chadwick will not be attending the ceremony tonight." She said in a calm and quiet tone.

Caroline did her best to bite the inside of her cheek, not trying to say anything about Chadwick's obvious death. "Maybe he will, who knows." She eventually said.

"He was confirmed dead." Sarah replied. "Although we never know, he's my brother and he wouldn't allow himself to die just like that." She gave a small smile.

Frederick sat in the same room as Markus and Axel. He had a piece of bread in his hands. He took a bite without saying a word, a awkward expression on his face.

"Hey Fred, how's it going?" Markus asked.


"That's a nice way of thinking." Caroline smiled and patted Sarah on the back as they walked.

"As good as this bread." He swallowed the food in his mouth and reached in a bag next to him. He held to piece of bread and tossed the two to Markus and Axel. "Try them, they're amazing! The food in Wall Sina is great." He shoved another bite into his mouth.

"Thanks, but I just ate. I'll save it for lunch." Markus said as he slid it into his jackets inner pocket. "I need to speak with Orion, I'll see you too later." He said and then walked out, looking for Orion.

Axel threw the bread back, As if somethings troubling him // Orion walked through a nearby District, watching the civilians enjoying themselves, unaware what happened during the last week

Frederick lifted his head up as the bread hit him in the face. The bread dropped onto the floor and he swallowed. "Something wrong Axel?" Frederick asked in his most serious attitude.

Sarah walked down a small ramp out of the castle grounds. She entered the streets of Wall Sina. "I'm going to go find a food stand, I heard Wall Sina has the best food there is, you in?" She asked Caroline.

"You know it." Caroline said with a slight grin.


"Orion." Markus said, walking up to him in a serious tone. "I've heard nothing about the future of the brigadier force. With Chadwick gone they must have dropped it, anything been said to you?"

"Hard to say, Maybe the Commander wants to say it at the last second" Orion shrugged "I don't know" He said, giving a smirk as he continued walking // Axel shook his head as if he was dozing off, but then woken "Oh- Nothing" He said, he turned his head to his left

Markus stopped, sighing and rubbing the bridge of his nose. He turned and went back in the direction he came. "God dammit." He muttered, running his hand through his hair as he made his way back to the castle.

Frederick lifted his leg onto the table he was sitting on. He lowered his head on top of his knee and looked at Axel.

Markus had not slept at all the past week. He barely ate and was not far from dehydration. As he was walking to the castle, He began to feel dizzy, he stumbled and tried his best to stand up right. He found a wall of a small building, leaning against it he struggled to stand.

Katherine walked outside the castle gates a few moments later. She saw Markus and thought for a second, giving a half roll of her eyes she rushed over to him.

"I don't need help!" Markus yelled, in a slurry tone. He tried to make the few steps to the castle, but fell. "Just let me be." He mumbled, as he curled up into a ball with his forehead resting on his knees, up against the building. The sound of a soft weeping came from him as he sat there.

Katherine eased her body. Her facial expression went slent as she walked into town.

Orion stood infront of Markus, He stomped his foot to get his attention // "What?" Axel asked, looking at Frederick

"Fuck you." Markus mumbled as he looked up at Orion. "It's my fault...it's all my fault." He whispered as he rocked back and forth.
